November begins

Today, Kim and I went for the 2015 Great Eastern Women's Run, and had a fabulous day. We weren't late, amazingly, and we completed 5km! I think we can officially conclude from today that Kim is definitely way stronger mentally than I am, because this lady above did not stop one bit, even if it was for a tiny cup of water or 100plus. I have to say, i ended up starting to walk at the second hydration stop, and alternated with slow jogs and sprints here and there. I had about 4 periods of pure walking. I ended up sprinting the entire way for approximately the last 400m or so. It was rather embarrassing at the end when i was crossing the finishing line though, because i looked horrendous but my face definitely got caught by the camera man at the finish line, because i was sprinting my life across it haha, so i'm quite worried about how the photo will turn out, if it actually makes it's way to the GEWR Facebook page that is.

We watched 我的少女时代 afterwards - this being Kim's second time, and i now understand why she's such a strong supporter of that film! I am absolutely mindblown by it, really. It's just so real, relatable, and heart-wreching. It was definitely a tear jerker and it totally helped that the cast were pretty darn good looking (Holla Wang Da Lu!!!!!). Some would say that the story line is really cliche, that it's comparable to 那些年我们一起追的女孩, but i beg to differ. There's something about this storyline that really tugs at heart strings at all the right times, and every scene was amazingly thought out. I would sound like a total film geek now but i really loved how everything was shot, how every scene had more to it and was only revealed afterwards. This is definitely a thousand times better than 那些年. One thing i would change though, would be how they changed the cast at the end. I would have totally preferred to have the cast remain the same to have an even greater impact. But all in all, amazing movie, and i give it 10/10 stars! It's only been less than an hour, and i've replayed the soundtrack 8 times. I am this obsessed. It's officially the second chinese song in my entire iTunes. Also, can we just talk about Hebe Tien's voice because the song is amazing.

It's been a great start to my wonderful November so far, and i know in my heart, that it's only going to get better. November is going to be slightly crazy, but hey, come at me. My Jesus has conquered it all. (-:
